Dear Fellow Grad Parents/Guardians,
Although the Graduating ceremonies and festivities are several months away, there is much to accomplish.
The Grad Ceremonies will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, June 16th at the Orpheum and the Dinner & Dance for the grads, their parents/guardians, teachers and administrators is on Thursday, June 17th, at the Hellenic Centre, 4500 Arbutus Street. Presently we have booked the Keg Downtown for the Dry After Grad; a special late night party just for the Grads which immediately follows the Dinner & Dance into the early hours of the morning. This has become a tradition for Point Grey and one that is celebrated each year with great success. It is a memorable “once in a life time” event and we hope that all of the grads will be able to attend.
As well as planning the Dinner & Dance and the Dry After Grad, the Parent Grad Committee’s top priority at this time is to raise enough funds to make both of these events possible at a reasonable cost to parents and students. To this end, the student and parent grad committees have already held several fundraisers with more planned in the near future. However, in order to keep the Dinner & Dance and Dry After Grad tickets at $65 and $35 respectively, we need to raise additional money to pay for all of the other expenses beyond the food costs for both events.
Many parents who have not been able to help out with the fundraisers or who are unable to get involved with the planning of these events, have asked about making a Direct Donation. We are hoping to raise the balance of these funds through tax deductible donations from parents who wish to support the Grad events in this way.
If you are able to make a tax-deductible donation to help raise funds for these events, please print the donation form (also in Chinese and Korean) and return to the school office (attention: Parent Grad Committee, Direct Donation Appeal) by March 3.

Spring is round the corner while we are already enjoying the spring weather, and summer will be here before we know it. Now is the time to stock up for all your barbeque and entertaining products such as meat, seafood, pies and cookies. Point Grey Dry/Safe After Grad is holding a FROZEN FOOD SALE with all proceeds going to stage an evening our grads will never forget. Traditionally, a Dry/Safe After Grad party is held following the parent grad dinner dance at an alternate location. To reduce ticket costs so that all grads have the opportunity to attend we need to fundraise. With your generous support this will be possible.
These products are high quality gourmet foods and have raised significant funding for many other community groups and schools in the lower mainland.

All orders must be prepaid. Please make cheques payable to Point Grey Secondary. Cheques and completed order forms are to be returned to Safe After Grad Box located in the school office by March 3, 2010.
Due to the spring break of both Vancouver and Richmond, food will be delivered on Saturday, April 17, 2010. The pick up time is from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon in the school cafeteria.
